What inspired you to join the team at Tonya Craft Legal?

I started out as an Intern at Tonya Craft Legal to explore the legal side of the criminal justice system. During my time as an intern, I really enjoyed working with the team and was interested in the cases we worked on. Systemic issues and injustice are both aspects of my studies that I have been interested in and we often work with clients who have been victims of systemic injustice in the criminal justice system. I found this work extremely fulfilling, so when Tonya offered me a job, I was happy to be a part of the team.

What does justice mean to you?

Justice to me is about making sure everyone gets a fair experience and chance. It is about equality and equity no matter who they are or where they are from. In respect to work, justice is what we strive to maintain for our clients. Ensuring that our clients rights are protected is one of the foremost steps in delivering justice.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

The best piece of advice I have been given is to be open to new experiences and embrace life-long learning. I have always felt that knowledge and experience is power because it equips me to face and navigate life’s challenges. Further, it has encouraged me to explore new hobbies, concepts, and perspectives.
